  • Marcin Gortat pens heartfelt letter to Wizards fans and the organization

Five years in one place is a long time in professional sports, long enough that no matter what happens moving forward, Marcin Gortat will always have a special place for Washington, D.C. The former Wizards center is now embarking on a new chapter in his career with the L.A. Clippers. After processing the Tuesday night trade that ended his time in Washington, Gortat wrote a letter to fans and the team expressing his gratitude for the time he spent with the organization.

  • Report: John Wall’s lazy defense at center of squabble with Marcin Gortat

As John Wall and his Wizards teammates – particularly Marcin Gortat and Bradley Beal – traded seemingly loaded comments about Wall’s offensive involvement, Wall delivered the most highly charged line. My sources tell me, obviously earlier in the year, Gortat had a real big-time issue with John Wall as teammates with the Washington Wizards. Scott Brooks constantly allowing folks to switch all the time instead of manning up and forcing them to guard folks, because Scott Brooks is known for not liking confrontation, basically took heat off individual players by allowing switches to take place every second.

  • Trade of Marcin Gortat leaves Wizards with big hole in frontcourt

Marcin Gortat's Tuesday night departure from the Washington Wizards was months, if not years in the making. The Wizards had discussed deals involving Gortat with other teams going back to at least the middle of the 2017-18 season. Gortat's exit was inevitable, but now that he's gone the dust is settling with a big hole on their roster coming into focus.

  • Marcin Gortat again wonders if his time with Wizards is over, but wants to be back

If Marcin Gortat was doubtful of his future in Washington in previous years, you can imagine how he feels now with just one season left on his contract. With an expiring deal, Gortat now has more trade value in theory. The Wizards have discussed trades involving the veteran center in the past and that process could ramp up this summer.

  • Wizards 2017 NBA Draft prospect profile: F Cameron Oliver, Nevada

Gonzaga big man Przemek Karnowski has looked up to Wizards' center Marcin Gortat for years. They played together on the Polish national team and were roommates. For the last four years Karnowski has helped out at Gortat's basketball camp in Poland. Now Karnowski, 23, is trying to join his mentor and friend in the NBA. Karnowski worked out for the Wizards on Tuesday. It was his first workout because he got sick and had to cancel others that were planned. That's not the way he would draw it up, however, it did allow Karnowski to begin this process with Gortat's team. "Me and Marcin have a really good relationship, especially from Poland and the Polish national team," Karnowski said. "I actually
