  • Carmelo Anthony is finally a Rocket, but is he still going to be a starter?

Carmelo Anthony is, finally, officially a Rocket. It took more than a month, but Carmelo Anthony finally joined the Houston Rockets on Monday, signing the one-year, $2.4 million contract he verbally agreed to last week. One possible resolution to the potentially sticky issue of how best to integrate ‘Melo: bringing him off the bench to allow him to act as the shot-creating, high-usage focal point of Houston’s second unit.

  • Donovan Mitchell's acts of kindness in Salt Lake City continue, this time signing shoes for young fan battling cancer

Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell signed a pair of shoes and took a picture with a young fan battling cancer who approached him at a Cheesecake Factory. Donovan Mitchell had an impressive rookie season with the Utah Jazz last year, one where he averaged 20.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. It’s what Mitchell has done off the court this offseason, though, that has stood out the most.

  • Report: Lakers vs. Warriors headlines NBA’s Christmas Day in 2018

In reality it’s just you watching the first half of the morning game — usually a lump of coal between the Knicks and Raptors — before you have to drive to three more destinations, missing the games you actually wanted to see. As such, the schedule for the Christmas Day games is highly anticipated, and now it seems we are closer to knowing just who we will get as gifts on the 25th. According to multiple reports, the 2018 edition of the NBA on Christmas Day will be headlined by LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers traveling to Oakland to take on the Golden State Warriors.

  • Jazz aim for continued growth in bringing back free agents

Rather than spend time and money trying to make a splash by bringing in a high-profile free agent, the Jazz are banking on continued internal development and continuity to boost a team that finished the 2017-18 season on a tear. "Chemistry is a hard thing," Jazz GM Dennis Lindsey said at a press conference on Friday announcing the three free-agent signings. Keeping Utah's roster virtually intact going into the 2018-19 season appears to be a sound move given how the Jazz finished this past NBA season.
