  • Kawhi Leonard, retooled Raptors hope to challenge for NBA title

A two-time NBA defensive player of the year, Leonard is eager to show he’s healthy again after being limited to nine games last year because of a quadriceps injury. The Raptors want Leonard at his best right now, so they can push for the Eastern Conference crown, but also hope their new star likes playing in Toronto enough to stick around when he becomes eligible for free agency next summer. Leonard was the biggest splash in a busy offseason for the Raptors, who traded a package including franchise icon DeMar DeRozan to acquire the 2014 NBA Finals MVP from San Antonio.

  • Raptors fans put DeRozan trade behind them as Kawhi Leonard is introduced to Toronto

Kawhi Leonard couldn’t see them through the spotlights shining in his eyes, but standing on the upper level of the main foyer at Scotiabank Arena were dozens of Raptors fans, cheering as Toronto’s new superstar approached the podium for his long-awaited introductory press conference. It’s been more than two months since the big trade that sent DeMar DeRozan and Jakub Poeltl to San Antonio for Leonard and Danny Green. Two months for fans to process losing a Raptors legend in DeRozan.

  • Ticket prices for Demar DeRozan's return to Toronto are already sky high

Raptors fans who are hoping to catch DeMar DeRozan’s first game in Toronto as a member of the San Antonio Spurs better start saving their toonies and loonies. The Spurs won’t be in Toronto for another six months — Feb. 22, 2019 at the newly-minted Scotiabank Arena — but ticket prices are already through the roof. As Raptors Nation noted on its Twitter account, the cheapest seat is going to set you back US$180, which converts to roughly $233 Canadian.

  • DeRozan on Ujiri: 'Done. No reason to have a relationship'

Unless you’ve been firmly entrenched beneath a large rock over the past week or so, you probably know that the once-thriving friendship between Raptors President Masai Ujiri and DeMar DeRozan is falling off a steep cliff in a hurry. The former Raptor is understandably upset about a trade that sent him packing from the only team he’s every known, but these moments are often just be a blip on the radar as wounds heal and the sting of betrayal fades away. A day after DeRozan decided to withdraw from Basketball Without Borders and NBA Africa Game, the four-time All-Star made the current status of his relationship with Ujiri very clear.

  • Frustrated DeMar DeRozan: “I gave everything I had to that team…

DeMar DeRozan is still pissed off. DeRozan felt blindsided and betrayed by the trade that sent him to San Antonio and Kawhi Leonard to Toronto (a trade that became official Tuesday when Leonard passed his physical with the Raptors). Did we mention DeRozan is still pissed about how things went down, as he told Chris Haynes of ESPN on SportsCenter?
