  • Hornets' Parker makes triumphant return to San Antonio

Charlotte point guard Tony Parker's emotional return to San Antonio on Monday ended with a 108-93 Hornets victory and an ovation from Spurs fans who still consider him one of their own. Parker, of France, won four NBA championships in his 17 seasons in San Antonio, part of the Spurs' famed "Big Three" alongside Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, who forged a deep friendship with the player who arrived in the NBA as a teenager, admitted it would be "weird" to see Parker take the court in the teal uniform of the Hornets.

  • Kawhi Leonard's return to San Antonio not just another game

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich is downplaying the significance of Kawhi Leonard's return to San Antonio. As usual, Leonard isn't saying much. But Leonard's first game in San Antonio since being traded to Toronto along with Danny Green for DeMar DeRozan and Jakob Poeltl has more significance than just another regular season game Popovich once deemed the franchise belonged to the 6-foot-7 MVP candidate with the impending departure of the Big Three - Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker.

  • Spurs waive Manu Ginobili, will likely continue paying him into retirement

The Spurs are still paying Tim Duncan, who retired in 2016. It seems they’ll also give Manu Ginobili, who retired this summer, a similar golden parachute. Duncan will earn $1,881,250 this season, the final installment of his three years of post-retirement income.

  • Spurs and Dejounte Breakdown

Monday brought some brutal news to the NBA world when an MRI revealed Dejounte Murray tore his ACL and he will miss the rest of the season. Perhaps no guard was expected to have a bigger breakout than Dejounte after coach Gregg Popovich gave him the keys to the offense, and now the Spurs are without Murray, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Kyle Anderson, Kawhi Leonard, and Danny Green.
