  • Decisions looming for Suns after difficult season

Excitement surrounding No. 1 overall draft pick Deandre Ayton and young star Devin Booker fizzled quickly, and most of the supporting cast of veterans was traded away. In their place came some players, most notably forward Kelly Oubre Jr., who made an impact. Now the Suns have questions about the look of their front office next season - they're searching for a new general manager but could structure the management in a different way - and whether Igor Kokoskov will return as head coach after guiding the team to a Western Conference-worst 19-63 record.

  • Jackson, Suns pull away from Pelicans in OT

Josh Jackson scored 35 points, including eight in overtime, as the host Phoenix Suns held off the New Orleans Pelicans 133-126 on Friday night. Jamal Crawford added 28 points, Ray Spalding had a career-high 21 points and 13 rebounds, Troy Daniels scored 14, and Dragan Bender had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Suns, who went 2-3 on a five-game homestand. Phoenix was without five key players, including guard Devin Booker, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury in a 118-97 home loss against Utah on Wednesday.

  • Report: Former Hornets, Pelicans GM Jeff Bower may get “high ranking” job with Suns

Devin Booker is legit (don't believe the haters), Deandre Ayton has potential, Kelly Oubre Jr. appears a good fit, guys like T.J. Warren and Josh Jackson might have roles — but the team needs a direction and a better-rounded roster. After firing GM Ryan McDonough at an odd time, then replacing him with an odder combo of people, Suns owner Robert Sarver is looking for the guy to give his team that direction. Jeff Bower may be that guy, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

  • Suns shut down guards Devin Booker, Tyler Johnson for season

The Phoenix Suns have shown flashes of promise this season, but with three meaningless games (for them) left, Phoenix will have two of its guards in street clothes the rest of the way. Devin Booker, who has been the go-to scorer for the Suns all season and has been on a tear of late, sprained his ankle against the Jazz. With three games to go, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports the Suns are shutting Booker down to let his ankle heal.
