    It’s no surprise that Spurs coach Gregg Popovich reportedly made a pitch for 76ers star Joel Embiid. The Philadelphia 76ers failed to meet the lofty free agency expectations set for them externally this summer, adding Wilson Chandler when names like LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George were being floated as possibilities to be absorbed into the max cap space they could have created. George re-signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder at the stroke of midnight on July 1, and James announced his decision to join the Los Angeles Lakers hours later, indicating that Philadelphia never had a chance to sign either star, despite reports that LeBron’s representatives met with the Sixers.

  • NBA to re-enter Seattle waters with Warriors-Kings preseason matchup

    For the first time since the 2007-2008 season, the NBA will host a game in the city of Seattle. The league announced its preseason schedule Monday, and on October 5, the Golden State Warriors will take on the Sacramento Kings at Seattle’s KeyArena, becoming the first NBA teams to play there since the Seattle Sonics became the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2008 offseason.

    Steven Adams is an excellent player for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Writing in his new autobiography, Adams attempted to detail why he thought opposing NBA players had such an issue with him on the floor. Basically, Adams said that it started out as a simple issue of a rookie big man learning not to foul so much, and evolved from there.

    Clint Capela will remain with the Houston Rockets after they agreed a five-year deal. The Rockets announced the deal, reportedly worth $90million, on Friday. Center Capela is coming off of a career year in which he averaged 13.9 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks.
