  • Jimmy Butler discusses his beef with Karl-Anthony Towns and other confrontations

In a wide-ranging sit-down dinner interview with Jimmy Butler, Yahoo Sports senior writer Chris Haynes covered everything with the four-time All-Star from his upcoming free agency to where he got his confrontational personality from (the NBA can thank Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah for that). It came during a conversation about Butler's controversial trade request from the Minnesota Timberwolves, as Haynes raised the point that Butler's interaction with teammates in the locker room belied reports of his infamous practice blowup. “Ain't nothing personal, man,” said Butler, who was subsequently traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in mid-November.

  • Towns crier: T-wolves big man emotional over All-Star honor

Karl-Anthony Towns sat on a hallway couch outside the movie theater, hunched over a tiny screen to watch the live unveiling of this year's NBA All-Star teams. When the image of Minnesota's blossoming big man appeared on the screen during TNT's broadcast of the announcement, signaling his second consecutive selection as a reserve, he dropped the smartphone on the floor and started to cry. His parents approached for congratulatory hugs a few seconds later.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns hits game-winning buzzer-beater vs. Grizzlies

The door could open for Karl-Anthony Towns to receive a $32 million raise over the next five seasons. If the Pelicans shut down Anthony Davis for the rest of the season, that'd seemingly leave an All-NBA center spot up for grabs. Towns – who's competing with Davis, Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic – would become favored to get it.

  • Wolves hoping to take advantage of jet-lagged Suns

Two potential-laden young players hope to put recent issues with the referees behind them with the Phoenix Suns take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on the front end of a home-and-home sequence Sunday night in Minneapolis. Both teams will take the court shackled in losing streaks, and both believe the NBA refs are partly to blame. The Timberwolves are coming off a 116-113 home loss Friday night to San Antonio, their second straight loss, in a game in which Karl-Anthony Towns fouled out for the sixth time this season.

  • Towns has 27-27 game to lead Wolves past Pelicans, 110-106

With the Minnesota Timberwolves badly needing to win after blowing it the night before and the game hanging in the balance, Karl-Anthony Towns took over. Towns did so against one of his most daunting opponents, too, furthering his place as the franchise leader. With 27 points and a career-high 27 rebounds, the most in the NBA this season, Towns helped the Timberwolves fend off Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans for a 110-106 victory on Saturday night, the first at home for interim head coach Ryan Saunders.
