First, they had agreed to a three-team trade with the Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies last night, but the trade was called off after confusion which player with the last name Brooks the Suns were receiving. Then, Friday morning, the Wizards finalized a deal directly with the Suns resulting in Trevor Ariza returning to Washington in exchange for Kelly Oubre and Austin Rivers.

  • AP source: Wizards acquire Ariza from Suns for Oubre, Rivers

    The Wizards are getting Trevor Ariza after all. Washington agreed in principle to acquire Ariza from the Phoenix Suns for Kelly Oubre Jr. and Austin Rivers, according to a person familiar with the deal. This Ariza trade came together hours after a reported three-way deal involving the Memphis Grizzlies fell apart late Friday night.

    James Harden had a huge triple-double with 50 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists, as the LeBron’s Lakers fell to the Rockets on Thursday night. Rockets 126, Lakers 111 - James Harden wore a ridiculous, gold short-shorts suit to the arena, hit 50 points for the 11th time of his career, along with a triple-double, and helped the Rockets beat LeBron James and the Lakers 126-111 on Thursday night. Harden finished with 50 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists, two steals and four 3-pointers as the Rockets improved to 13-14, as they continue to dig themselves out of the bottom of the West.

  • Spurs earn largest win of the season, beat Clippers 125-87

    LaMarcus Aldridge scored 27 points and the Spurs won their fourth straight, topping the Los Angeles Clippers 125-87 on Thursday for their largest win of the season. A franchise that won five championships behind a dominant defense under Gregg Popovich has been troubled by an inability to stop people this season. Two weeks ago, the Spurs lost by 30 points in three games after the franchise suffered only five such losses in Popovich's first 1,758 games.

    Houston Rockets star James Harden reminded everyone why he won the NBA MVP last season, starring against the Los Angeles Lakers. The 29-year-old guard posted his NBA record fourth 50-point triple-double with 50 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in a 126-111 win over the Lakers on Thursday. The Rockets are 13-14 this season and in 13th in the Western Conference, but are 2-0 against LeBron James' Lakers (17-11).

  • Leonard sits with bruised hip as Raptors rout Warriors

    Kawhi Leonard sat out Toronto's showdown against the Golden State Warriors because of a bruised right hip. The star forward was inactive for the second straight game Wednesday night, but the Raptors cruised to a 113-93 win at Golden State. Earlier in the day, Leonard was deemed questionable while getting treatment on his hip.

  • Spurs go for fourth straight win against Clippers

    San Antonio has been enigmatic this season but is finally playing consistently and bunching together victories. It will take a lot more than that, though, for the Spurs to continue their win streak when they host the surprising Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday at the AT&T Center. The Spurs have regained their stride, winning three straight games for the first time since a four-game run in an eight-day span from Oct. 27 to Nov. 3 and reaching .500 for the first time in almost a month with a 111-86 victory over Phoenix on Tuesday.

  • We rallied around it - Durant on Green confrontation aftermath

    Kevin Durant immersed himself in basketball to help him get through the aftermath of his confrontation with Golden State Warriors team-mate Draymond Green. Durant and Green argued on court at the end of regulation in their overtime loss to the Los Angeles Clippers last month, the former complaining that his team-mate had not passed the during a key play. The argument continued into the locker room and became the talk of the NBA, with Durant bluntly telling reporters not to ask him about it anymore after days of probing and a suspension for Green.

  • David West on Draymond Green-Kevin Durant dust-up: ‘I could’ve stopped it’

    David West used to be a calming influence in the Golden State Warriors locker room. The former two-time All-Star big man retired in August after a long career, and the Warriors are perhaps worse off because of it. Draymond Green and Kevin Durant have famously feuded with each other, resulting in a blow up during a game against the Clippers which left Green suspended and Durant miffed.
