    Wesley Matthews was not a free agent for long, signing with the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. The 32-year-old wing player signed with the Pacers after he received a buyout from the New York Knicks, the team announced. Matthews was sent to New York from the Dallas Mavericks in late January as part of the Kristaps Porzingis trade.

    Wesley Matthews, a veteran guard in his 10th NBA campaign, signed a contract with the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, three days after being released by the New York Knicks. The 32-year-old son of Wes Matthews, a two-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1980s, has averaged 12.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists over 45 appearances this season for the Knicks and Dallas Mavericks. After one season with Utah and five more at Portland, Matthews signed a four-year deal with Dallas before the Mavericks traded him to New York a week before the Knicks dropped him.

    Kristaps Porzingis, who hasn't played in almost a year because of injuries, was traded by the last place New York Knicks to the Dallas Mavericks in a multi-player NBA deal on Thursday. The Knicks also gave up Trey Burke, Courtney Lee and Tim Hardaway to the Mavericks for Wesley Matthews, Dennis Smith and DeAndre Jordan and two first round draft picks. The Knicks said Porzingis, of Latvia, asked to be traded.

Ben Simmons recorded a triple-double with 20 points, a game-high 14 rebounds and a game-high 11 assists while Joel Embiid provided a double-double with a game-high 25 points and 12 rebounds, leading the 76ers to a third consecutive win despite the absence of Jimmy Butler, who missed the game with an illness. Wesley Matthews connected on four 3-pointers to account for a majority of his team-high 18 points for the Mavericks.
