  • AP source: Celtics re-sign Smart to 4-year, $52 million deal

    The Boston Celtics have re-signed guard Marcus Smart. The 6-foot-4 defensive stalwart is returning to the team that picked him sixth overall in the 2014 draft after finding the market for a restricted free agent wasn't as lucrative as he'd hoped. A person with knowledge of the agreement told The Associated Press that Smart signed a four-year, $52 million contract with the Celtics.

  • Wade still unsure of NBA future but signs lifetime shoe deal

    Dwyane Wade still has not decided if he will continue his NBA career, but he's working hard to make sure his post-NBA career is set. The 36-year-old guard announced a lifetime contract extension with Chinese apparel company Li-Ning, which he's represented since 2012, on Wednesday during an event in Beijing to unveil his new Way of Wade 7 shoe. Financial terms were not announced, but the contract calls for him to increase his presence at developmental camps and clinics in China and around the world.

    Josh Hart scored 37 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 112-109 double-overtime victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday in the semifinals of the NBA Summer League. Los Angeles advanced to the championship game for a second straight year after winning the 2017 title behind game MVP Kyle Kuzma and league MVP Lonzo Ball. The Lakers will play Portland, which knocked off Memphis in the other semi-final.
