  • Report: Bulls showing interest in Chicago native Jabari Parker

With the Bulls still locked in to negotiations with their own restricted free agent Zach LaVine, they're reportedly interested in a familiar face. The Bulls, of course, have plenty of depth at power forward. Lauri Markkanen was named to the All-Rookie team and Bobby Portis was one of the league's best reserves.

  • Young Bulls upbeat, but there is work to be done

The Chicago Bulls like to think they are one of the NBA's up-and-coming teams, one that could challenge for a playoff berth next season. Led by forward Lauri Markkanen, the Bulls return a slew of young talent but the team lacks depth and key playmakers. Much will depend on Markkanen's development along with that of swingman Zach LaVine, guards Kris Dunn, Cameron Payne and Denzel Valentine, and big men Cristiano Felicio and Bobby Portis.

  • Bobby Portis vs. Nikola Mirotic: Who wound up having the better season?

The Bulls have a core of their future in Lauri Markkanen, but after the incident between Bobby Portis and Nikola Mirotic the team was forced to pick between the two moving forward. The Bulls opted to trade the red-hot Mirotic to the Pelicans on Feb. 1, opening a door for Portis for more playing time while continuing to develop Markkanen. Portis blossomed in his third NBA season, averaging 13.2 points, 6.8 rebounds while hitting a career-best 36 percent from deep.

Markkanen scored 23 points and connected on 5 of 8 3-pointers to lead Chicago to a 113-94 win over the Washington Wizards on Sunday. Bobby Portis had 18 points and hit 4 of 5 from long range, and Sean Kilpatrick added 14 points.

  • Hardaway leads Knicks past Bulls

A resurgent Tim Hardaway Jr. had 22 points to lead the New York Knicks to their first back-to-back wins since late January with a 110-92 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night at Madison Square Garden. Cristiano Felicio had 17 points and Antonio Blakeney and Bobby Portis both had 16 off the bench to lead the Bulls, who were without three of their most important players -- Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn and Lauri Markkanen -- as they lost for the third time in four games. Hardaway had 17 of his points in the third quarter, when the Knicks broke the game open.
