  • Despite rough start, Celtics’ Jaylen Brown is convinced he’s an NBA starter

Last April and May, Jaylen Brown was a breakout starter on a Boston team that made the Eastern Conference Finals, where he dropped 30 points one night and averaged 18 points a game, getting 14.8 shot attempts per game, and he had the ball in his hands a lot in the postseason. This regular season Brown and the Celtics have not been the same. With the return of Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward Brown’s role shrunk, he’s playing five fewer minutes a game, his scoring is down to 12.5 points per game, he’s shooting less than 30 percent from three (when he was close to 40 percent a year ago), his PER is down to 11.1 (well below the league average), and the Celtics’ offense is 8.2 points per 100 possessions worse when he is on the court.

  • Here's when Danny Ainge felt Gordon Hayward "turned the corner" for Celtics

If Gordon Hayward goes on to have an All-Star caliber season, Danny Ainge likely will point to a late-November practice as the catalyst for his turnaround. In an interview with 98.5 The Sports Hub's "Toucher & Rich" on Thursday morning, the Boston Celtics' president of basketball operations discussed some of the struggles that have plagued Hayward early in the 2018-19 campaign. "Gordon is overcoming a lot of different things," Ainge said.

  • Cedric Maxwell shares how Jaylen Brown must modify his game for Celtics

Jaylen Brown's role has changed a lot this season as the Boston Celtics have integrated a healthy Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving into the lineup. Both Irving and Hayward missed significant time last season due to injuries, and Brown was able to flourish into a star in their absences.

  • Gordon Hayward's improvement for Celtics summed up in two great stats

Gordon Hayward reminded Boston Celtics fans of the All-Star level he's capable of playing at during his team's 118-109 road win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night. The Celtics have won three consecutive games for the first time all season (and four wins in their last five matchups), and it's no coincedance that their winning ways and offensive improvement overall are happening simultaneously to Hayward's better performances.

  • Kyrie Irving wants Gordon Hayward to be more aggressive on offense

Kyrie Irving has seen the same thing that most of us have when it comes to Gordon Hayward. "We had practice (Wednesday) and I told him (Hayward), ‘Look for your shot more. Get aggressive and get yourself going because you are a great talent in this league and I don't want you to ever forget that,' " Irving told reporters of his conversation with Hayward.
