  • John Wall and Bradley Beal were put to the test as leaders during tumultuous 2017-18 season

The 2017-18 season for the Washington Wizards was characterized by maddening inconsistency and the usual byproducts that come with that including questions of locker room discord. In many ways the season was a learning experience for John Wall and Bradley Beal as leaders of the team. The locker room has been turned over to them in recent years as veterans like Paul Pierce, Trevor Ariza and Nene were jettisoned.

  • Bradley Beal's phantom foul and the Wizards' most important rally of the season

After calling an inconsistent game throughout the night, the referees made a decision with five minutes to go in Game 4 that nearly altered the entire series between the Wizards and Raptors. DeMar DeRozan was chasing a rebound on the baseline and ran into Bradley Beal. Beal had unloaded for 20 points in 12 minutes in the second half, but now the Wizards would have to close it out without their All-Star shooting guard.

  • Wizards need Bradley Beal to be better to have chance in series with Raptors

The Bradley Beal who dominated the Raptors during the regular season, the guy who made the All-Star team and was the Wizards' best player for much of the year was just not the same for the first two games of Washington's first round playoff series with Toronto. Beal was fine in the Wizards' Game 1 loss, but just fine. This is a guy who averaged 28.8 points against the Raptors through four regular season games.

  • Can Bradley Beal get his groove back? John Wall, coach Brooks think so

It hasn’t been pretty for Bradley Beal through two 2018 playoff games: 14 points per game average on 39.3 percent shooting overall and 27.3 percent from three. Worst of all, he has been on the court through two games the Wizards have been outscored by 31.4 points per 100 possessions by the Raptors. There are a lot of things Washington needs to do better on their home court to turn this series around, but at the top of the list is to get Bradley Beal going.

  • Wizards may have avoided disaster with Otto Porter and Bradley Beal's injuries

With injuries to star players reshaping the playoff race seemingly by the day, it almost happened to the Wizards on Thursday night in Detroit, not once but twice and all in the third quarter. First, Otto Porter rolled his right ankle, then got it stepped on. Otto Porter is down and in pain after this play where it appeared he injured his right ankle.
