@CandaceDBuckner: Jakob Poeltl looks like he could be Blake Griffin's brother more than Taylor Griffin does.

  • Wall, Beal lead Wizards past Raptors in Game 3

John Wall and Bradley Beal combined for 56 points, and the Washington Wizards climbed back into their first-round playoff series with a 122-103 win over the Toronto Raptors on Friday at Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. Wall scored 28 points and handed out 14 assists, and Beal also dropped 28 points for the Wizards, who trail the Raptors 2-1 in the best-of-seven series.

  • Wizards show some fight, top Raps 122-103, get series to 2-1

All of about 2 1/2 minutes into the game, Washington forward Markieff Morris and Toronto's OG Anunoby needed to be separated after a near-fight that drew in other players. Early in the third quarter Friday night, Raptors guard Kyle Lowry was called for a flagrant foul when he swiped a hand across Bradley Beal's forehead as the Wizards guard went in for a breakaway layup. Later in that period, things really came close to spiraling out of control, but John Wall's bodyguard interceded when Washington's All-Star jawed with Toronto's Serge Ibaka.

  • With Playoff Beal back, the Wizards are revitalized in playoff series vs. Raptors

The Toronto Raptors were only going to hold Bradley Beal down for so long. After two so-so games to begin the Wizards-Raptors playoff series, the All-Star shooting guard was bound to find his way offensively and that arrival came in a Game 3 win on Friday night. Beal was brilliant and much more in line with what he's shown in the postseason throughout his career.

  • Wizards destroy Raptors behind Bradley Beal's breakout effort, move series to 2-1

The Washington Wizards beat the Toronto Raptors 122-103 on Friday night. Wizards show some fight: The Washington Wizards who punch back, who play with an edge and impose their will on opponents physically and mentally, the team that initiates contact and trash-talks their foes into misery, that team finally showed up in the 2018 NBA Playoffs on Friday night and did so at the perfect time. With an 0-2 deficit and following a blowout loss three days before, the Wizards pulled themselves up off the mat and struck the Raptors with a message-sending blow that may have saved their season.

  • John Wall, Bradley Beal and the Wizards wake up, thump the Raptors to take Game 3

The last time the Washington Wizards hosted a playoff game, they left the fans at Capital One Arena ecstatic and exited the gym as swaggering heroes, thanks to a game-winning 3-pointer by John Wall that ensured the hometown team would play a Game 7 for the right to advance to the Eastern Conference finals. A lot’s changed in 11 months for these Wizards, who entered Friday’s Game 3 of the first round just looking to show signs of life after getting shellacked on Tuesday to fall into an 0-2 hole against the East-leading Toronto Raptors. Back at home for the first time this postseason, though, Wall, Bradley Beal and company looked like the fire of old for the first time in a long time.
