  • Is Michael Beasley As Good As LeBron James and Kevin Durant? He Certainly Thinks So

Ever since Carmelo Anthony was traded to Oklahoma City Thunder last week, there has been one question on the mind of Knicks fans. Who, they want to know, will replace Anthony as the new star forward in New York and help propel the Knicks back up the Eastern Conference? They will be pleased to hear, then, that Jeff Hornacek has a man in his team with the qualities of Kevin Durant, equal with LeBron James and “up there with the best guys in the world.” Michael Beasley says that man is Michael Beasley.

  • Michael Beasley could be viable replacement if Melo is traded

F Michael Beasley has signed with the Knicks, the team announced on Tuesday. According to The Post's Marc Berman, Beasley signed a one-year deal worth the veteran minimum $2.1 million.  The second overall pick by the Heat in 2008, Beasley has been a journeyman with the Knicks becoming his sixth team in his 10th season. His latest team was the Milwaukee Bucks who he played 56 games for last season.  Though Beasley has bounced around, NBA scouts believe he can still play at a high level. "He can flat out score -- isos along the right baseline," one NBA scout said. "He could be a perfect replacement for Melo, if he's traded." Last season, Beasley averaged 21.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per 36 minutes

  • Michael Beasley, Knicks ‘nearing’ a 2-year deal, per report

Michael Beasley and the New York Knicks are “nearing” an agreement on a two-year deal, according to Basketball Insiders’ Michael Scotto. Beasley, a former No. 2 overall pick, played 56 games with the Milwaukee Bucks last season. The deal would be for the veteran’s minimum, reports ESPN’s Ian Begley. This will be Beasley’s 10th season in the league, although his previous two only happened after stints in China wrapped up. Last year was the first time in three years that Beasley spent his entire time in the NBA, and he would have played more if not for a nasty last season knee injury that caused him to miss 17 games. Beasley was largely effective off the bench for the Bucks, averaging 9.4 points
