  • Report: Lakers telling teams no player is untouchable

The Los Angeles Lakers aren't title contenders, but they have put together a talented, young core that could help them get there. The Lakers have maneuvered to be able to offer a max contract to one of this summer's star free agents -- LeBron James and Paul George among them -- while keeping their core intact. The team isn't shopping any key players, but, according to the report, the Lakers have made it clear that they will listen to offers for anyone on the roster, even young stars Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart, if it helps them fast-forward the rebuilding process.

  • Report: None of Lakers’ young core ‘untouchable’ for right trade offer

Another — possibly more accurate — way to phrase the theme of this story: Hey, Gregg Popovich, if you’re trading Kawhi Leonard how many of our guys would you want? The Lakers liked what they saw from their young core this season. Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, and Julius Randle all lived up to or exceeded expectations (some may have had outsized expectations for Ball, but he grew as the season wore on).

  • That time Kobe Bryant asked Heath Ledger about 'The Dark Knight' and how to destroy Gotham

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson posted a video of himself partaking in the Los Angeles Lakers’ “Genius Series,” in which the team invites speakers to address their players as a motivational technique. “There was one time when Kobe, who I worked with for 18 years, was going back to play in Madison Square Garden, and he had just seen ‘The Dark Knight,'” said Pelinka.

  • Kobe Bryant shrugs at idea of Lakers drafting LiAngelo Ball: 'If it'll help win'

Like it or not, the Ball family of Lavar and his sons has become an unavoidable pillar of Los Angeles basketball. TMZ Sports got ahold of Bryant outside ABC Studios in New York and threw some questions at him, including the possibility of the Los Angeles Lakers drafting another member of the Ball family. Bryant did what many wish they could do when the subject of the Ball family comes up: he shrugged, threw out a generic answer (“If it’ll help win”) and immediately got into the car to leave.

  • Lakers Free Agency: Kobe Excited by L.A. Options This Summer

The upcoming summer could be one of the most important in the Los Angeles Lakers’ recent history, as the franchise looks to add a superstar free agent to its existing core of young players. After missing the playoffs only twice between 1976 and 2013, the Lakers have not made an appearance in the postseason since, as they looked to slowly rebuild a winning side. Kobe Bryant certainly believes the future looks bright for the 16-time NBA champions, who could add at least one high-profile star to a roster already packed with young talent.
