    Erin Popovich, the wife of San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, died on Wednesday (April 18) at the age of 67 after a long battle with illness. The couple married four decades ago, while Gregg was serving as assistant coach at the Air Force Academy between 1973 and 1979. Erin is survived by her two children—Jill and Mickey—and two grandchildren. The five-time NBA champions have asked the media to respect the family’s privacy and it remains unknown whether their head coach will be on the bench when the Spurs face the Golden State Warriors in Game Three of their first-round series on Thursday night in San Antonio.

Cavaliers 100, Pacers 97 – Series tied at 1-1– LeBron James went crazy last night, hitting 17-of-24 shots, two 3-pointers and 10-of-13 free throws for 46 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and two steals in Wednesday’s big 100-97 win over the Pacers.

George set an Oklahoma City playoff record with eight 3-pointers, blowing past the previous record of five. It was his first playoff game with the Thunder since being acquired in a trade with the Indiana Pacers in the offseason.

    Indiana guard Victor Oladipo scored 32 points, including 6-of-9 shooting from 3-point range, to power the Pacers to a 98-80 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 of their NBA playoff series Sunday at Cleveland. Oladipo, who sank 11 of 19 shots overall, contributed six rebounds, four assists and four steals. The Pacers, who dominated most of the game, shot 45.6 percent while holding the Cavaliers to 39 percent.
