  • Pistons must adjust without PG Jackson

    The Detroit Pistons have recovered nicely from their struggles at the start of December but now will be forced to play on without starting point guard Reggie Jackson. Winners of five of their last six games, the Pistons will be without Jackson for the foreseeable future Thursday night when they visit the Orlando Magic, who are trying to stop their second nine-game losing streak of the season. Eight weeks from Thursday is Feb. 22 and by then the Pistons will have played 57 games and be two weeks past the trade deadline.

  • Pistons’ Reggie Jackson leaves game after rolling right ankle

    The Detroit Pistons watched in horror on Tuesday night as point guard Reggie Jackson went down in the third quarter with what appeared to be a painful right ankle injury. The play came with 5:25 to play in the third quarter against the Indiana Pacers. After the game, Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said that X-rays came back negative and that Jackson would undergo an MRI tomorrow.

    The Spurs fought through another injury and the second game of a back-to-back to beat the Detroit Pistons and earn some rare praise from coach Gregg Popovich. LaMarcus Aldridge had 17 points and 10 rebounds and San Antonio rallied to beat Detroit 96-93 on Monday night. Reggie Jackson had 27 points for Detroit, which led by as many as nine points before dropping its third straight.
