  • DeMarcus Cousins is the NBA's dark horse MVP candidate

Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins is the NBA’s dark horse MVP candidate. Listen, I’m not going to say DeMarcus Cousins will win the MVP, but he should be on more ballots. Cousins mined the Denver Nuggets for 40 points, 22 rebounds, four assists and four blocks in a 123-114 victory on Wednesday.

  • Cousins' 40/22 night leads Pelicans past Nuggets, 123-114

DeMarcus Cousins employed a hesitation dribble between his legs as he approached center Kenneth Faried in the lane. The Pelicans big man then spun between Faried and converging Denver forward Wilson Chandler and was fouled as he converted a leaning scoop off the glass. It was perhaps the best of many highlights for Cousins, who had 40 points, 22 rebounds and four blocks to help New Orleans down Denver 123-114 on Wednesday night.

  • Is Lonzo Ball Improving At All? Lakers Rookie Had the Worst Weekend of his NBA Career Against Rockets and Nuggets

Ball, the Lakers rookie point guard and their great hope for the middle future, at least, had one of the more traumatic weekends of his NBA career so far as his team lost again, and again, to the Nuggets and the Rockets. The Lakers have lost five games in a row, which is bad news even in a season when losing is mostly okay, if it comes with promise attached. On Saturday, against the Nuggets, Ball registered nine points, nine rebounds, nine assists and five turnovers as the Lakers collapsed in the fourth quarter.
