  • Dwight Howard has 23 rebounds, Hornets hold off Mavs 102-98

It was as if Dwight Howard didn't even have a game off. Howard had 23 rebounds and 18 points to cap an eventful four days and the Charlotte Hornets held off the Dallas Mavericks 102-98 on Saturday night for their third straight victory. Charlotte led by as many as 15 points, but Dallas cut it to 87-86 on two of Yogi Ferrell's 11 fourth-quarter points.

  • Ferrell’s season-best 24 points lead Mavericks past Nuggets

Yogi Ferrell scored a season-high 24 points that included a 6-of-7 showing from beyond the arc as the Dallas Mavericks rolled past the Denver Nuggets 118-107 on Tuesday at the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas. Dallas rode Ferrell's hot hand, especially in the third quarter when he scored 10 of his points and after which it led by 13 points. The Nuggets got to within 108-101 with 5:39 to play but then missed nine of their next 10 shots as the Mavericks did all they needed to do to win.

  • Trust the result: Sixers win

If you're still waiting for them to blow another whistle to put the Dallas Mavericks back on the free-throw line -- with another chance to tie the Sixers last night, send the game into overtime and ultimately steal the win -- I certainly don't blame you. It had all the makings of another calamitous Sixers loss on Saturday, as they led by five in the final minute, but Mavericks guard Yogi Ferrell still went to the line with Dallas down two and 0.2 seconds to go. In a rare super-break for Philly, however, Ferrell bricked the first FT, and then his intentional miss of the second was batted harmlessly away as time expired.

  • Simmons leads 76ers past Mavericks

Ben Simmons had 23 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds as the Philadelphia 76ers outlasted the Dallas Mavericks 112-110 on Saturday night for their second win of the season. Joel Embiid added 23 points and nine rebounds as the 76ers won in Dallas for the first time since Jan. 29, 2005. Dallas had a chance to tie the game and force overtime with 0.2 seconds remaining with Yogi Ferrell at the free throw line, but the guard missed the first attempt and Dallas couldn't score on a rebound after he intentionally missed the second.
